kobo to mobi using calibre

Hello,

I've gone through the forums and can't seem to find what I need so here I go...

I've purchased epub books from the kobo book store and want to convert them to mobi in order to read them on my kindle (the "why" is a long story). I downloaded the acsm files to ADE then loaded them to calibre for conversion. When I attempt to convert, calibre tells me the files are DRM and I have to use third part software to continue. I thought ADE was it? Am I missing a step?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

ADE does not remove DRM. ADE displays the encrypted epub on your PC so you can read and/or moves the epub to an authorized epub compatible device (B&N nook, sony reader, etc.) for reading; but it does not remove DRM. I would suggest you look in the ePub area of the ebook formats section of these forums and/or look for a blog by apprentice alf.
