Question... How to find unread Kindle books?

Quick question for help here ...

I know that there are a few books I bought on my kindle with the goal to read them later. Luckily, I don‘t get any free books or similar, but still I have about 600 books in my library and would like to find a way to identify those where I am, say, at less than 5 % of pages read.

Is there any way to achieve that?

Put them in a Collection TBR..... As soon as you Download them. Once they are Read MOVE them Out of the TBR collection. That away You will always know What you have Not read.

And/or put them in a Collection "DONE" after you have read them. The mirror of Barbara's suggestion.

PS: if you download books, they MIGHT still show dot marks indication that you have read to the end of them. Maybe.

The problem is that you cannot find your unread books unless you already have a system in place for keeping track -- catch 22. It would be nice if you could sort books by how recently you synchronized reading process, by how far (% and or location). That would still require to have sync on, but that information is not there to look at.

Does Kobo store books in the clouds for you? And indicate FINISH there? Cuz books already ON the kindle will indicate finished by having dots to the end of the title.

Actually, OP, have you tried this? You don't seem to be talking about books that are in the cloud. So it they are all on your Kindle, display the titles in "list" form (not icon form) and you should see dots indicating which books you have already read some/all of.

If you are still here? We haven't heard from you since your first post.

Books purchased from Kobo and synchronized to the Kobo ereader or app? The same information is visible in My Books on the Kobo or on the web for reading percentage or finished. Deleted books? If they were synced from Kobo, they will be in your archive with the reading information preserved when you look at the web view. Library borrows from the device? Same as purchased and synced from Kobo except that when the loan expires, you will get a preview to act as a placeholder for any annotation, book marks, etc.

The main difference I've seen from Amazon is you can't add sideloaded books to the cloud. Sideloaded books have very little information sent to Kobo other than pages read and time spent reading.

Not of that much interest for me since I prefer to download, import into calibre, cleanup metadata, covers and series data and then send to my Kobo. I will use the store from my Kobo when I'm not near my computer and want to pick up a new read or borrow a library book (library books available from my library will show either a borrow or place a hold option).

Here's a sample for two books from the web view. Format is title, author, series, genre, (unread, % read or finished). I reformatted the single line display to multiple lines.

The Shockwave Rider
John Brunner

Science Fiction & Fantasy
45% read

Wolverine's Daughter
Doranna Durgin
Wolverine's Daughter
Science Fiction & Fantasy
Finished

If I'm looking for unread books on my Kobo, I just select unread as the display filter. This is one place where they went a bit overboard. You can select All, Reading, Unread, Finished, Purchased, OverDrive, Imported and Downloaded* as filters with a sort order choosen from Recent, Date added, Title, Author, Series, File size and File Type.

* Downloaded are books purchased from Kobo and synced or sideloaded books. Since my Kobo is set to remove downloads when I finish a book purchased from Kobo, if I want to re-read it, I have to tap on the download link in the My Books display.
