Time to convert
So I converted the book 'Eldest' from an epub to a mobi and it took 7.5 hours. It was successful.....but should it take that long? A couple of other long books (Harry Potter) took 3 hours. Most took seconds. Just curious...

I was doing a epub to epub conversion on the same book and it took me about the same time. When a book is chock full of Microsoft html junk it can take some time to sort through it all. Most books created using standard html and css take around 30 or so seconds to convert. In other words what you are experiencing is par for the course.

The length of time for the conversion seems to rely on the quality of the source. As was mentioned files with an inordinate amount of embedded formatting tags (as typically created by programs like MS Word) take a long time to convert.
