PDF on Kindle

I just received a Kindle. I love it. Especially, I'm pleasantly surprised that PDFs on the Kindle are very readable. I prefer smaller font sizes, so many PDFs look great. Some don't, of course, because the text is just too small.

But some PDFs would be great on the Kindle if it wasn't for all the empty white space around the text body, in the margins. Is there a way to optimize these PDFs by removing the white space around the text body, thereby making the text larger on the Kindle screen? Can Calibre do this somehow?

As i know, Calibre can´t do this. To do this, you need a program, that gives you full control over PDF´s, like Adobe Acrobat.

There are software products to do what you want plus firmware upgrades. Being discussed here...

PDF Scissors (http://www.pdfscissors.com/) is a pretty useful Java app for doing just that.
