Well done!
What do you get from rooting the Alex? I thought you already had full access. Oh, and welcome to MobileRead! |

No, from stock you don't have full access.
You are able to install apps by downloading .apk files via the browser, but that's what you can do on every Android Phone. (even a lot of users were surprised you can do this one the alex) Well, on the B&N Nook, you weren't even able to do this. With root access, you have full access to the entire system! |

When I was deciding to get the Alex, I know I saw a link for getting the apps, but I don't know where I saw it? Do you know a good site for the regular apk files (don't feel like being root just yet )

When a book is downloaded using the browser, where is it stored? Is it stored in the SD card or in the system folders?
If it is in the SD card, then I think the Aldiko books can just be transferred to that folder using a File Manager app? If it is in the system folder, then we would require root to do the transferring. My guesses only, going to try it out when I get my Alex. |

When I downloaded a book from Gutenberg it ended up in the "ebooks" folder on the SD card, but I didn't use the browser to access Gutenberg; I used the "Bookstore" app.
