Embedded metadata on export
Which metadata are embedded in PDFs and in ePUBs on export via calibredb export?

I tried to find the content of the publisher field in an exported PDF without luck, but maybe I'm doing something wrong...

all metadata is embedded for both. In PDF you need to look at the XMP metadata to find it.

ps: The problem in my particular case was that the PDF was not writable (because it was encrypted) - and my script didn't bubble up the calibredb exception text.
