Secrets of the Amish Diary

This isn't an ebook, but since there are a lot of readers here, I thought that I might try asking about the book/series. The book, Secrets of the Amish Diary is the first book in Annie's Amish Inn Mysteries. My mother got a flier for this book with some sort of book club, but my father threw out the flier before she could order it, so they asked me to buy it for her. The book isn't out in ebook, came out in 2016 and the hardback is $49.

Is this some kind of scam? $49 for a 200 page book and the publisher is someone named Annie's? It's mentioned on Goodread, but not much info on it.

I think the $49 price is from sellers of used copies on Amazon.

The Annies's Amish Inn Mysteries website has it for $7, or $6 for the e-book. Of course you are then subscribed for future books at a higher price.
