Formatiing features of formats

Has anyone seen any comparisons between the various formats of ebooks that list various formatting features? I'm talking about support for hyphenation, justification options, line spacing, changing fonts, etc.

I have a Kindle and I'm not very impressed with the lack of justification control or lack of support for hyphenation.

This is partially a function of the ebook format but also a function of the implementation. For example, see Wiki: Mobi Comparison for a comparison of different MOBI readers (including the Kindle).

I think you are primarily asking about user-selectable options. Adobe Digital Editions typically only supports font size as a user selectable option for ePubs (it is a "publisher is never wrong" reading application). This isn't entirely true of other ePub Readers, and even mobile Adobe Digital Editions in principle has user-provided style sheets to control formatting but no vendor has implemented this feature. Only B&N have added user-selected fonts to mobile ADE (two additions fonts to choose in addition to the default Adobe serif font). We don't currently have an "ePub Comparison" page, but it might be worth setting one up.

FBReader is a "reader is always right" application, the exact opposite of Adobe Digital Editions. However, this implies that many features of ePub (say) are ignored by FBReader. FBReader is used on several dedicated reading devices now, but it is only for DRM-free ebooks.
