Hi everybody!
I've recently released hardcoverapp.koplugin, a plugin to update your reading status on https://hardcover.app. Features
(not implemented, maybe some day):
Install, instructions, etc: https://github.com/Billiam/hardcoverapp.koplugin Tested with: * KOReader 2024.07 and 2024.11 * Kobo Clara HD Last edited by Billiam; 11-28-2024 at 06:16 PM. |

this seems pretty interesting, the only question I have is: why not try and make it part of KOReader's official plugins?

Also, it currently requires external setup (adding an API key), which no other official plugins require.Hardcover may be changing their API access to oauth at some point though, so the requirements may change. I'll be submitting it to the third party plugin list at some point: https://github.com/koreader/contrib |

Thanks for the plugin, it works fine on the Aura 2. Is it possible to add hardcover options (to read, currently reading, read, etc.) to the menu that appears when we long press on a book? I hope more features will come to the site soon, it would be nice to be able to set the reading percentage etc.

I think you can set your reading progress by page or percentage on hardcover currently, though I don't have any percentage options in the plugin Last edited by Billiam; 11-30-2024 at 02:30 PM. Reason: clarity |

This looks great and I've tried to install it on my Kindle PW5. I think i've followed the instructions correctly and have tested my API key. The Hardcover plugin menu just isn't there in the Bookmark menu. What could I have done wrong? I've left the folder name as 'hardcoverapp.koplugin-main' in the KO plugin folder, is that correct?
Thanks |

It should have an ability to work offline for a further sync. otherwise, even hardcover quotes can't be done while you are not connected (which is often for ereaders). Also an ability to push koreader highlights to hardcover would be nice to have

probably the same way as a official koreader.export plugin works?
I see it is possible to add a new destination type to highlights export https://github.com/fairlygood/provid...ights.koplugin Last edited by zikasak; 04-28-2025 at 12:23 PM. |

Would you expect highlights to be treated as quotes in Hardcover? I assume you mean in lieu of the current 'hardcover quote' button

(just another user, ignore me if bill responds) Is there anything in your crash.log? I'm not 100% positive about the exact path on kindle installs, but it should be at the top level of the koreader install. Koreader is pretty good about recovering from crashes (believe me, I've put it through the paces lately) and will silently throw an error message in the log if it fails to load a plugin usually.
