Library Management in Calibre

Dear Sir,

I upgrade my old ebook from Sony Prs to Kobo Clara BW.

Now I use to test Calibre to copy the library from Computer directory to Kobo.

I notice that Calibre create a strange file strucrure on Kobo with a lot of directory for Author and one for each ebook.

My books on coiomputer are named as TITLE and AUTHOR.epub as filename.

But after i upload in calibre and transferred to ebook the metadata not reflected the TITLE and AUTHOR of filename.

I immagine that calibre was able to search and create metadata correctly.


Strange but if I copy alle the books with cut/paste all is ok .



I try to search on forum but I not isolate this behaviour.


It is usefull to use Calibre ? Why if I should modify metadate for each book ?

Calibre uses internal metadata, not filenames. You can set it to get its metadata from filenames when adding new books, if you want.

With the Device connected (as indicated on the Calibre Status line)
Rigt click the Device view Icon: Configure device: Adjust the save Template to taste.

I believe this is the default

{authors}\{title}

That means: Make an Authors folder, Put the Title in it
