File Name used for storing books to disk

I have modified the be value for the template for saving books to disk to this
{author_sort}/{title}/{series}-{series_index} - {title} - {authors}
however Calibre only saves the books in this format
{author_sort}/{title}/{title} - {authors}
is there something I need to do for the update to take affect, I have restarted multiple time yet new books I have added don't reflect the new naming standard and I would like to update the old files with the new naming standard.
I have more than 3k+ books in library I am using ... but have a lot more in the other Libraries I have created. is this locked because I have multiple libraries defined.

You don't (and should never) change the Library naming structure. (See the FAQ) Or even add books directly.
There is a process that ADD performs on every book (just like any public one does). The files name is logged into the Catalog (the DB) as part of this.

The file templates are for EXPORTING to OTHER devices, not internal use.
Those are usually quite capable of delivering books from the GUI in just about any combination.

See the Metadata plugboard for devices that do not use filenames for their bookshelf manager (that is many, these days)

@beachbunny - the Save to disk settings do not control the names of the folders and files within the library. See ==>> Save to disk
