Smile Anyone purchased a refurbished Kobo?

I'm thinking of buying a new Kobo for my husband, who uses his e-reader only for reading e-books borrowed from our library's Overdrive collection. His current Kobo is an Aura H2O-2, and he's happy with it, but I know he'd like the 7 inch screen and page-turn buttons on the Kobo Libre 2. Has anyone purchased a refurbished Kobo (from Kobo) and if so, are you happy with it?

I got sent one under warranty when my Forma became inoperable.
Couldn't tell it wasn't new apart from the box which says Refurbished on it.

For me, if buying, the saving isn't big enough to warrant refurbished, but that's personal choice.

I haven't but I would, as long as it's cheap. I normally buy used, but not Kobo.

Thanks! You're right, there isn't much of a saving on refurbished, is there? It's the only way to get the Libre H20 now, though, so there's that to consider, I guess.

I picked up a refurbished Kobo Glo for one of my great nieces when her Glo died. It was hard to blame Kobo when she dropped her beach bag with the Glo into Burrard Inlet. Salt water and electronics are not a good mix.

She used the refurb for 5 years before she upgraded.

Hmm. They're available online in black or white on the Rakuten Kobo site in the UK for £159.99 but I guess different countries have different supply chains.

If refurbished were the only available ones, I'd go for it no problem.

I've had a white one since July and it's the best reader I've had by a mile

Ouch! I wouldn't want to drop anything in Burrard Inlet! Good to know the refurbished Kobo Glo lasted for five years.

I have a Kobo Libre H20 I bought on sale when that model was being discontinued, and I agree. It's the best Kobo I've owned, too.
