New York Review of Books recipe misses book ID
Many articles in NYRB are book reviews. Near the start of the article's text (but apparently not directly above the main text but instead off to the left in the web version), the book(s) reviewed are identified. The recipe no longer downloads the identification of the reviewed book(s). I think this problem started after the Nov. 8, 2020 issue and either with or before the Dec. 17, 2020 issue.
Book identifications look like this one, from the first article in the October 7, 2021 issue: []IMGhttps://app.box.com/s/yh0dzu07iihjd45rtkvb3mqpf1hd3ls5[/IMG] On the web, a large image appears above the column of text, and the book identification is to the left of the large image. (Sorry -- the URL for the example identification didn't work) Last edited by seidmad; 09-27-2021 at 12:51 PM. Reason: Attempt to link to an image failed. Apology added. |

Thanks for the quick reply, but if that URL is to a recipe that is supposed to solve the problem, I don't think it does. I followed the instructions for installing a custom recipe in 5.28, used that to download a new issue, and got the same result -- the books reviewed were not identified.

You dont need to use a custom recipe. recipes are automatically updated. And spare me the angry faces. You just killed any motivation I had to help you.

A misunderstanding
I intended a sad face, not an angry one - I almost never use smilies, and I seem to have chosen the wrong one. I had been surprised and delighted by the speed of your response and then was disappointed that it didn't seem to work. This was the first time I had run into a problem with Calibre. I apparently misinterpreted what I read about what I should do. My apologies for any errors I have made.
