Degree of Hope for Handling KFX files and Latest Kindle Apps?

I realize that we have a number of options for dealing with KFX files, almost all of which depend on downgrading your Kindle app. My question is the following: Is it reasonable to think that KFX will get "cracked" in the near future and one won't have to rely on downgrading the Kindle app, nor the collection of hacks that we have now?

KFX files can already be handled in the sense that it is possible to convert to and from that format using plugins in calibre.

I assume your concern is regarding KFX DRM. I haven't heard of any progress in that area. And I believe that Amazon is serious about maintaining the integrity of KFX DRM so any new solution might not be long lived.

The details of DRM removal is not an allowed topic on MobileRead. You might be able to have a more in-depth discussion if you raise an issue at Apprentice Harper's GitHub.
