Convert Walmart ebooks to Kindle?
I really have no idea where this belongs. It looks like Kobo might be affiliated with walmart (ebooks anyway) but I'm not sure. Maybe this should go in the kindle forum instead? Please move wherever it belongs if this isn't correct.
That said, I bought a cheap ONN tablet the other day... NOT to use as an ereader. I have a Kindle Oasis and really like it. I did, however, come with a $20 credit towards Walmart ebooks. Is there a way for me to purchase said ebooks and then convert them to some format that I could then upload to my kindle? I'd just hate to lose out on a free $20 worth of books! Thanks for the info! |

Yes, Walmart uses the Kobo book store. Reading them on other devices/apps means downloading them from your library in the store, removing any DRM and converting to the format you want to use. Not all books have DRM. For the books that have DRM, you will need ADE to download the books. For the others, they will download directly as an epub.
For management and conversion of ebooks, I recommend calibre. There are for the DRM removal which include plugins to do it in calibre. |

You can use Calibre and extensions to it to remove the DRM so to upload to kindle. No one will give you directions here for it is not legal but the instructions are online you just have to google and search.
In my opinion, we should be able to treat digital books like physical books: read them on any device, trade, sell... etc. But oh well. |

Not legal is *very* debatable and will depend much on your jurisdiction. However, legal or not, it's certainly against the terms of service with your e-book provider, and likely to embroil mobileread in debates they don't want to be part of. |
