				ASOIF/Game of Thrones Analysis

I was just wondering whether anyone has any suggestions for books that analyse ASOIF? There are lots of books on the origin, inspiration and message of Tolkien's books for example, and the selection seems to be endless. Is there anything similar for Martin's work?

To answer the original question, my understanding is that GOT is loosely based on the British War of the Roses, i.e. the British civil war that ended the Plantagenet line and started the Tutor line. I haven't seen any analysis of the series per se, maybe because the series hasn't been completed yet. I suspect the treatment of Tolkien's universe is pretty unique, I really can't think of any other work that has generated that level of analysis. | |

I suspect that only "serious" literature gets analysed by others, and GoT hasn't been around long enough yet for time to pass judgement on whether it passes muster in that category or not!

Your best bet is to go the the forums at westeros.org. There's no specialized "analysis" section, but I'm sure there's people there who would discuss the things you're looking for.

I read a few analysis articles but they focus on statistics or just death tracking. No idea if the series will get the same level of analysis Tolkien’s work got. For example — https://towardsdatascience.com/findi...g-68cf95d7f1d1 and http://time.com/game-of-thrones-every-death-graphic/ |
