How long should the battery last on the pen?

I'm running into an issue where I'll take my DPT-RP1 to a meeting with the device and pen fully charged. When the meeting is over I let the device fall asleep. The next day I'll go to use it again and immediately hey a notification that the pen battery is low. My meetings are.only 30-60 minutes.

Shouldn't the pen fall asleep too and the battery last much longer? I don't have draining happening on the device itself.

I've had the RP1 since March, using it daily, and I've charged the pen twice - once when I got it and once again later. I think something is wrong with your pen.

Sony mentions in the manual that storing the pen “near” the device may impact battery life, I’m not sure how smart the pen is. Mine keeps a charge for at least a week without use and is still full afterwards. I store the pen in the DPTA-RC1 cover (picture here) so pretty close but to the side.

I don't store the pen near the device - in a different pocket of my backpack.
