Modified Column... all yesterday's date

I just noticed the modified column in my Calibre library consists only of yesterday's date. When I look at the path for random older books the file dates are older, most of the directories are also older, many matching the files dates (for the most part). It's not as though I somehow managed to edit the library in 'one fell swoop'. When I checked the library database for errors there were none. The files in the library also match the information in the database. Is this probably a corrupt database file that needs to be rebuilt?

ETA: I am seeing this in the entire library, not just a search or VL subset.

You must have recently edited the metadata for all your books. Modified refers to the metadata.

And modifying a tag that applies to many books can update the modified date for all those books.

The modified date is not something you should be overly relying on.

Clearly something I did inadvertently, accidentally, because I'm not sure how it happened!

I don't rely on it, just occasionally sort by the column to see most recent modifications.

also, Adding/removing a column will do it

do all the books have a tag (or 2) in common? Importing a book with any tag of a different CaSe will trigger a tag (re)name change

And that my fine feathered friend, is the answer. I was following the directions for getting CC to see my virtual libraries (via adding a custom column) yesterday evening.

That was done on purpose.
