kobo aura one and bad screen light colors

my kobo aura one have this problem: when is dark and I want to turn on its orange light the color is not uniform at the bottom. there are strange tints.

I wish to ask you please: if I return my kobo to the shop and they give me a new one is there a good chance to get a copy without problems? or this issue is too much common? please let me know so I will decide what to do.

This may be daft idea so feel free anybody to knock it down......Your reader may be from some old stock ,from an earlier production run. Get refund
and order direct from Kobo itself to ensure latest production unit.

I had the same issue from amazon.uk, a patch of white at the bottom right of about 3cm square, informed them and they sent me out another one, luckily this one is perfect, so its a case of keep trying.

I tried 5 from the latest batch (new stock from BestBuy Canada) and they all had the green tint problem.

Gosh I have the latest H2O from Kobo direct and the day/night lighting is perfect, and as this is a new product using the same lighting system as the Aura, it shows they can get right if they want to.

Yeah, I pre-ordered my KA1 from Kobo, no lighting issues here. The light is even aside from just at the very edges of the screen which even with the minimal margins I set doesn't affect visibility of the words. The red light is also a single color.

It confuses me that some people think build quality will always improve over the lifetime of a product, that can happen, but typically companies rather iron out issues pre-massproduction since it's ultimately cheaper than the bad press and replacing of defective units.
