PRS-T3 Does font embedding work with PRS-T3 - FW 1.1.01.17210 ?

I have been trying to embed a font in an epub and get to render on a PRS-T3, but no luck so far. Has anyone got embedded fonts working with the firmware 1.1.01.17210 ?

Mine has 1.0.00.07030 and font embedding works fine.

Just in case, are you sure you pointed to the new fonts in the CSS and this is actually used?

Yes I have tried a number of things, including the EPUBTest file (http://epubtest.org/rs/47/). It is interesting that while this page reports that font embedding does, as you say, work for 1.0.00.07030, it did not work for my device with 1.1.01.17210.

Can you factory reset a PRS-T3 back to 1.0.00.07030?

Maybe a language barrier - factory reset does not and should not change the firmware version

If your intention is to go back to 7030 this is generally known as downgrading or (generic) reflashing.

In theory downgrading is possible, unless the manufacturer restricted this. But even then there is a possibility, just that for the time being no hacker could have broken in (lack of time, samples, interest).

Towards the turn of the Millennium I had upgraded a CD-burner to the newest stand. And I lost the ability to copy SD2 games, the reason I spent so much money on it. The manufacturer blocked the downgrading. Since then I never ever did a FW upgrade.

I've never owned a PRS-T3 but from what I remember of the PRS-T1, embedded fonts were only displayed if you selected 'Original' (or was it 'Default'?) from the device's Font menu. If one of the Sony built-in fonts was selected then it overrode the embedded font.

Thanks jackie_w, yes I have tried that. It looks like code was changed in the latest release of the firmware to remove support for embedded fonts.
