If You Will Lead: Enduring Wisdom for 21st-Century Leaders by Doug Moran, former financial services CIO of Capital One, as well as a prior Verizon and Government of Virginia employee, is his motivational leadership lessons guide to Exactly What It Says In The Title, based on a combination of Rudyard Kipling's (Wikipedia) partially-eponymous namesake poetry (Wikipedia) and (non-Kipling-authored) stories about the inspiring lives of selected historical figures (historical accuracy not necessarily guaranteed, according to the customer reviews), free courtesy of publisher Agate's B2 imprint.

Technically, this has previously been offered free in 2012 and again in 2014, but never seems to have gotten mentioned here on MR (or maybe my search-fu is just really bad this morning), so let's just treat it as a new offering, since it probably will be for most of you.

Currently free, probably just until the weekend @ B&N (may also drop in the UK), Amazon (not available to Canadians, but also free in the UK), and may also drop @ iTunes, as Agate freebies have been doing in recent weeks and/or show up as a DRM-free PDF available worldwide download directly @ the publisher's webcatalogue page, as Agate freebies sometimes do, but they seem to have been skipping lately.

And this has been the (late!) selected 3rd (non-repeat… ish) free ebook thread of the day.

A bit by default, but bonus points for centring the entire thesis of a motivational self-help book around a public domain classic literature poem (although Kipling with all his imperialist baggage is… not really the best sort of role model for modern leadership, IMHO) and involving historical figures in the ensuing narrative, to boot.
