Free (Kindle) Ask Amy: Advice for Better Living [Chicago Newspaper Q&A Column Help]
Ask Amy: Advice for Better Living by Amy Dickinson is a collection of her reader-response advice columns from The Chicago Tribune, free courtesy of publisher Agate's Digital imprint.
Currently free @ Amazon (not available to Canadians). May or may not show up later at B&N and/or Kobo, as Agate freebies often do (but they seem to have been skipping lately), or as a DRM-free PDF download available worldwide directly from the publisher's webstore. And this has been the selected 3rd (non-repeat) free ebook thread of the day. Mostly by default, but also because I do kind of sometimes like seeing write-in advice column-type stuff because it can be interesting to see what people actually suggest doing. (My favourites are Miss Manners, and Tumblr's Here's That Bad Advice You Wanted {warning for occasional coarse language in the latter, which may not be suitable for the more sensitive Gentle Readers in the audience}.) Enjoy! Description For a decade, Amy Dickinson has been the Chicago Tribune's signature general advice columnist, helping readers with questions both personal and pressing. Ask Amy: Advice for Better Living is a collection of over 200 question-and-answer columns taken from 2011–2013. As the highly popular successor to the legendary Ann Landers, Dickinson answers readers' questions with care and attention, while also providing a plainspoken, straight-shooting dose of reality that often only comes to us from close friends. Dickinson's advice is rooted in honesty and trust, which is why so many readers turn to her for advice on their everyday lives and for maintaining healthy, lasting relationships. Ask Amy: Advice for Better Living is a testament to the empathetic counsel and practical common-sense tips that Dickinson has been distilling for years. |
