New&curious
Hi, I am new&curious&very interested in E-book readers. I am following developements and progress but still waiting for the E-book that isn't there, I think. What I really am waiting for will be an E-book that also has a wireless internet connection. My way of reading a book includes looking up words, connotations, backgrounds, etc etc. An E-book reader that has the possibility to touch a word that links to google or dictionaries or wikipedia and for instance opens a small window, that would be my ultimate reader. Or am I missing something and does that already exists? Pim. |

The Cybook and the iLiad support local dictionaries in MobiPocket format. The PRS-505 does not have dictionary lookup support.
The Kindle comes with the New Oxford American Dictionary (250,000 entries and definitions), which can be used to get definitions while reading a book. In addition, there is a search capability that will find all documents that contain a given word, its dictionary definitions, and the capability to lookup wikipedia and do a Google search on the word using its Sprint network connection. Wikipedia and Google are built in search options, but there is also a basic web browser for more custom operations. |

Sure, but I would already an advantage if I could use it home anywhere, using my own wifi connection.

Thanks for your elaborate reply. Cassydim already mentioned that Kindle is only connected with Amazon. Moreover it is not available now. And worst of all, I live in Amsterdam, Netherlands. I have to be patient. I would be surprised if my wish wouldn't become reality one of those days.
