What's the most words you've written in a month?

So I started my latest book on January 5th. 110,463 words later, on January 31st, I completed the first draft.

I don't think I'll ever write another one that fast, but it was fun to go all out with every second of my spare time and quite a bit of my sleep time. I also wrote 10,000 words on another book the first four days of January for a total of over 120,000 words written. Pretty sure my family won't let me neglect them that much again. Providing they're still around. *looks away from the computer* Sweetie? . . . Kids? . . .So I was wondering what's the most everyone else has written in a month. My previous best was 60,000 |

During NaNoWriMo a few years ago I think I topped out at about 65k or thereabouts [I actually finished about a week early, though]. Also, it wasn't during a full month, but I hit 63k during a 4-week period.

I'm jealous! Looking back, I think I made about 40..45k words while writing the end of my second novel - but that seems like such a long time ago now, I'm happy when I make half that. Sometimes it's other commitments, sometimes it's just that it refuses to come (whatever "it" is).

Jeeze, I've been trying to track my output and thought I was doing reasonable at 15K for January, (even though that is only half of what I'd hoped -- am trying to crank it up). And it is divided among many different pieces both non-fiction and fiction.

I finished around 80,000 words last August. It was by far one of the biggest feats I have accomplished as a writer- and one of the most exhausting. But I love writing. When you truly get involved in something so deeply, it's hard to pull away. It turns into an addiction. And I think the words fit together more easily, when you're that involved. The story flows at a rate that barely allows you to think- yet alone second guess the plot you're creating. I enjoy it!

I think the most I've done for one story line was about 30,000. I try to find a balance between my writing, my kids, and my husband who wants me to play online games with him. It's not always easy, so my average is probably half that.

I mainly write short stories, but I think around 40,000 - I haven't written as much since.

I managed 61,100 for NaNoWriMo last November, but also wrote a short piece of 1,700 words in the month, so just under 63k in all. Great fun, but it was like a short circuit in my mind, which went pretty blank in December!
