Someone correct me if I am not correct but I believe the Jet Book and Aluratek are e-inks and they sell for approximatly $100 for the Jet Book and $90 for the aluratek. I could be wrong about them being einks though.

Those are black and white non-backlit LCD units.

New or Secondhand?
Regular price or sale price? There are several e-ink readers that sell for $99 occasionaly. Like Sony 300. One of the cheapest devices with consistently lowest price is Kindle 3. $129 for a new unit. With WiFi and the newest generation pearl display. |

That's good about the jetbook, especially in remote holiday regions:
![]() "... is also the first to use 4 AAA batteries..." And for the "very" phlegmatic ones of us folks: "...2 Years standby" ![]() Regarding "cheapest e ink"...interesting article about a future Price drop: "E-ink should be able to ship about 3 times the screens they shipped the year before." (20 to 30 million screens) http://www.the-digital-reader.com/20...ens-this-year/ |

The Jetbook is not eInk - it's LCD.

Yes, of the big four current e-ink devices -- the Kindle, nook, Sony, and Kobo, the Kindle Wifi with special offers (the ad supported one) will be the cheapest at $114.

The original Kobo Digital Reader is $99. It is an adequate EInk device, perhaps 2 years behind the latest generation - but still ok for reading.
