Calling it quits with Entourage

I had such high hopes last year when I bought me EE. I am visually impaired and was looking for an e-ink reader that would offer good zoom capability to help read PDFs for work. I was assured that the upgrade (when available) would allow me to zoom in to basically one letter per page if I so desired. Numerous updates came and went and still only had the 4 levels of zoom. Some books it was fine, but others, it was not enough.

Then Ermine beta gets release over a year after the product launched and we get landscape and as a result get more effective zoom. Its buggy, but its still beta.

Then I hear rumors of Entourage possibly going bye-bye.

That's it. I've had enough.

I sold my EE to another and hopefully, she will get good use out of it.

Its been fun all, but I must bow out for now. Maybe if ES remains viable and speeds up the dev cycle, I may come back, but I'm done for now.

Take care all and keep the forums going. They are so helpful.

Regards

Craig

Good luck out there!

I hope you find something that works really well for you. It's a shame enTourage wasn't able to follow through on their intentions as quickly as I'm sure they, and everyone, would have liked.

I fear losing my sight probably more than anything. I watched a relative lose hers to macular degeneration; when she could no longer read she basically gave up. Reading is that important to a lot of us, whether for work or pleasure. Please do report back if you come across a worthy device!

Thanks and goodbye

I'm the one that bought brauckmiller's EE in perfect condition and at a great price, and I'm enjoying it immensely. Craig, I'm truly sorry it didn't work out for you, but it has a good home and is much appreciated!
