Does anyone know the way to sideload a MOBI file to the Kindle for iPad application? The new IOS and iTunes seems to be devoid of any method of transferring a file for the app. I can't send it to my Kindle account in the normal way as this is a big file and it's too large to email. |

You could use DropBox or something similar to upload the file then download it to your device.

I have an iPad and iOS7 and it seems to be the same as it always was. Mount the iPad and then select apps and then scroll to the Kindle app and add the file. What is it you can't do? Dale |

When I click on APPS... or select from the dropdown on the left, all I get is a list of icons for apps. I can't do anything with it. This is iTunes 11 and it looks like they've taken away all functionality other than buying stuff from Apple. .... or am I just missing something? (file|add to library doesn't work either) |

Click on the icon for the Kindle app. A window will appear where you can add books.

If you use Calibre, you can do the same thing a lot more easily by using the "iOS Reader Applications" plugin for Calibre.

n.b.: you can no longer use Dropbox or email for any azk files. If you're converting files commercially, or want to see how your file will really look on an iOS device, you have to a) make the .azk and then b) sideload it the hard way (USB-->iTunes) to K for iOS as per this thread. Don't assume that the mobi's you sideload to K4iOS look ANYTHING like the azk files; they don't. It's a giant PITA. I lived and died by Dropbox, here at Booknook.biz, and now I have to go through all this brain-damage. But, FYI! Hitch | |

What is an .azk file? Did you mean .azw?
