which one should I buy? :)
So, I have read, re-read and the more I read, the more undecided I get.
So here's the situation: I am from Europe (Romania) but I do have a friend in the US should I need to use a US address or something. The price is a big issue, so Kindle kind of has no competition, at $139 + 25% VAT + customs fee. I also loved the nook, but apparently the touchscreen usage and menu kind of sucks, according to endgadget.com. I won't go any higher than 200 euros total for this, so that's the end of possibilities, as far as I am aware. I think the WiFi thing is important - I have a WiFi router set up in my home, so can I connect to calibre on my PC/laptop and get my books from it? but on amazon's site there are different pages for kindle, a version for the US, and a version for international shipping. what is the difference between the two? If I buy the international one, am I locked out of the amazon US book store? Do I get a different device, or different accessories? |

I used to have a nook. I enjoyed it, but I enjoy my Kindle3 more. The touch screen was a neat idea, but wasn't implemented as well as the Kindle interface.
Hardware wise I think the K3 is better than the nook. It's lighter and I feel it is sturdier too. |

There is no difference in the K3. The US version is the same as the International version. I looked at the page it tells you to buy from living in Romania all that is different is that the page says for international shipment.
I have no idea if the page you buy it from will effect where you can shop. I would hope not since I know US citizens living abroad who might be a Kindle from the Japan page and should still have access to the US bookstore. |

Learning to navigate does take a little bit of learning curve, but nothing on par with learning a new phone. It's really easy and becomes very enjoyable. Last edited by boswd; 10-01-2010 at 12:49 PM. |
