Problem with stylus

Hello everyone

Something is wrong with my stylus (Iliad 2nd Ed.)
Last time I used the reader, like 2 months ago, it was working perfectly.
Yesterday I used it again. First, I had to charged the battery, so I thought the problem was because of being discharged.
But now it is totally charged and it has the same behavior.

It only writes when it is in an angle of 30 degrees or less. As you can imagine, it is impossible to write this way.
If it is in 80 or 70 degrees (a comfortable position for the hand) it doesn't write.

It seems like if the (white) tip has lost the "connectivity", and only works the higher portion of the tip, the nearest part to the grey body of the pen. I am just guessing, so that's why it only works when putting it almost parallel to the screen.

Is there any way to solve this, like a "tip replacement"?
Any experience about this problem?

Thank you.

It's not really the tip that does the work in a WACOM stylus, but rather electronics that are inside the shaft of the pen behind the tip (the grey body). That's probably why it works better at lower angles, because you're getting the electronics in the body closer to the screen.

Whether that's because the WACOM layer in your iLiad is having problems, or there is something wrong with the stylus, I don't know. I think replacement pens are fairly cheap though. I'd try that first. Unfortunately, if it's an issue with the iLiad you're going to have a difficult time getting that fixed with the loss of support from iRex.

Maybe I'd better start looking for a new stylus then.

I wish the stylus to be the real problem here.
I have treated this device with extreme care, and now this...
Very disappointed with such an expensive and unreliable product.

Thank you for your answer.

My stylus stopped working after dropping it. I removed the little grey cap and there is a little potentiometer. Maybe you can adjust it. I could repair it adjusting the poti.

Do you mean the darker top of the body?
How did you remove it? turning it?

I think he is refering to the light grey cap, at the position where you would normally put your index finger.

yes, the light grey cap. But be careful - mine broke off.

I have exactly the same problem with the stylus. Let me know if replacing it worked.
