Are you a better than average driver?

How good at driving a car are you, compared to others you meet in traffic? By good I mean how safely do you drive, without causing incidents and accidents. Not how fast or how good you are at finding the way.

I suspect that the majority of drivers estimate that they are better than average drivers. I wonder if that holds true here...

I aim to drive economically, within speed limits :coughs:, have caused no accidents, but have been involved in two "serious collisions" caused by others cornering onto my side of the road.

I have (at least) 10 years no-claim and an absolutely clean licence from new.

Does this make me brilliant/good/average/poor/mediocre ....

how does one mark this without taking a test ? (:shudders: )

The most important thing to know when driving is how to salute to the other drivers at the appropriate times!

I'm slightly better than the average driver. I know this because I follow all the rules of driving (well, sometimes I fudge on that speed limit one) and I seem to be one of the only ones who do...

Well, I've never hit anyone, and it's been 30 years since I've gotten a ticket.

Around here the people drive like they're in a race, so I'm definitely one of the slowest drivers, even though I usually go a little over the speed limit.

My driving record says that I'm a pretty safe driver, but I'm horrible at backing up! I've come so close to backing out of a parking space into another moving vehicle sooo many times. I don't know if it's the design of the van that makes it hard for me to see someone coming or the fact that my neck doesn't turn like an owl's or that I never got those eyes-in-the-back-of-my-head thing that most mothers come equipped with! (Does anyone have one of those new cars with a back up camera or obstacle sensor?)

I have 2 available categories on my driver permit (one for the car, one for the motorcycle). 0 accidents in 10 year

2 years ago I crashed at 40 mph with my motorcycle because of a flat tire, but no other parties involved.
So yes, I think I am better than the average driver

After I bought my motorcycle (4 years ago) I never driven a car... maybe I should practice again
