finding PID for kindle 4 (NT)?

n00bish question, i got some books i want to put on my kindle but they're drm'd and i need my PID before calibre can strip them. how do people go about getting their PID for the newest kindles? thanks.

I'm confused. Why would you need your Kindle's PID to remove the DRM from ebooks you want to put ON your Kindle?

But whatever: There's no generated device PID necessary (for the vast majority) anymore. Just visit Alf's blog.

it was stupid of me. i deleted the dictionary off my kindle and amazon archive, then decided later on that i wanted it after all. i downloaded the dictionary from my wife's archive, but it's locked to her kindle. thus needing to dedrm it. she actually has the touch kindle, so i guess i might need the pid for that. i have no idea.

PID for kindle is the serial number, at home screen, just press 'menu', 'setting', 'menu', 'device info'.

Just call Kindle support. They will re-add it for you to your account.
