Howdy!
Hi everybody!

I'm from Vermont and have been reading posts here for about a month. The MobileRead forums (fora?) are an incredible resource and I'm lucky to have found them.

I don't have an ereader - they were always out of my financial range. I perked up my ears when I saw that B&N had one for ~150 and I started to research in earnest.

I'd never even held one before, and last weekend I did a grand tour of book stores and other places that sold them.

I think I got a pretty good feel for the most common readers, and a much better idea of what I like and dislike.

OK, I'm running long. Time to go.

Oh do feel free to call me mopping: it looks so....silly...that I rather enjoy it.

Thank you, Neil. The Sony PRS300BC (that's the one you're talking about, right?) was one I actually got to hold in my hand. I liked it's solid feel, and it showed me that a five-inch screen with maximum font size would work for me - which was a surprise.

I think this is a perfect price for it and I hope they keep making it. It'd be an impressive stocking-stuffer.
