My friends,
I have a Bokeen Opus (I love it) and a Irex 1000 (I love it too). I use the Bookeen for epub´s and the Irex for pdf´s and veverything works great. But, as we all know - toys are fun! So, what e-readers would foot the bill: * Reads both pdf and epub (I don´t care for other formats).- * No wifi or such, useless for me * Screen larger than 5" * Top quality and reliability As I live in Sweden Kindle and such are ruled out. Any ideas? Olle |

Pocketbook 902/903?
As big as they come and it stays in your epub ecosystem. |

Around christmas but no sure date.
I got my PRS-650 today and may order a PocketBook 902/903 for the bigger screen. Having 6" and 9.7" (902/903) there's no reason for the 950. |

It's international, so you won't have any problems with Kindles in Sweden. Same for (softrooted) nook. There's probably little to no material in Swedish available in Amazon's azw-format. But that's solvable via conversion... Else: Of my readers, able to fulfill your criterias, I like: Sony 900: Great form factor. Of course you should go for the successor now: Sony 950. iPad: May be worth checking out. As a reader, it may have some slight disadvantages (screen in direct sunlight, battery duration, weight). But, depending on your general needs, it still might be interesting. PocketBook xxx: I've got PocketBook 360, which only has 5". But its firmware makes more than up for it. And there are other models, 3 new ones will be available soon. BeBook Neo: Some consider it the most advanced reader for the moment. As you've already got iRex 1000S, I don't list iRex 800. Else it would be on my list as well... |

Kindle is ruled out for the same reason I will never buy any Ipod, Ipad, IPhone or such. Gadgets that limits my use and restricts my freedom is simply ruled out....

The PocketBook 903 is a 9.7-inch ereader with a Wacom digitizer screen (meaning a stylus is required; no touch, no overlay, no image degradation) that comes equipped with 3G, WiFi, and Bluetooth. It has 2GB of internal memory, a Micro SD card slot (32GB), headphone jack, text to speech, user-replaceable battery, and built in speakers. The battery is rated at 7000 page-turns.
The 902 has all of the above minus the digitizer. Euro-priced at 330 euros for the 902 and 400 euros for the 903. US price undetermined yet. (902 at~$330, most likely) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywRQV...eature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZozNf17Png8 |
