Anyone have a K2 and a DX?
For some reason I have recently been bitten by the DX bug... I want one even though I have the K2.
What I wonder is... does the larger screen size a big enough advantage to drop $300 (or so) on the DX? Does it become "too heavy" after reading for a while? Does having the page turn buttons on only one side bother you? I am not that worried about the portability of the larger device since I read at home about 90% of the time. |

I have both a kindle 1 and the dx. I don't use my 1 anymore. I find it is like the difference between reading a hardcover and a paperback. I love my dx and the only time it has been too heavy is when I was reading on my side in bed, fell asleep and it crashed on my nose. My thumb doesn't cramp up as much when I have a marathon reading session. It is really a matter of preference. I love it but my friend has a K2 and she, after playing with mine, told me she likes hers much better.

I dont have a Kindle 1 but I do have a Sony 505 and a DX. Without question the DX size is worth the money. You can really settle into a book instead of lots of page turns and as far as transporting it I have an I phone so if I feel the need to read when out then I use that - or take the Sony and read a different book.
Loved my Sony 505 but ADORE my DX. Natalie |

I have the K2 & the DX - and I agree with all the above comments. Fewer page turns, large page size, not that heavy. I missed most having the page turn buttons on the left - but you can flip the display upside down and use the DX upside down with the buttons on the left. I now read everything on the DX at home, and carry the K2 for reading on the go.

Haven't tried a K2, but I have tried a Sony PRS-505. I agree with what has been said so far. I don't think the DX is heavy if you keep it naked. I also don't mind the one sided page turns. Once you try the larger screen I think it's hard to go back to a smaller one.

I love my DX, I can make the font big enough but not have to turn the page too often. If it had better PDF annotation capabilities I'd use it all the time.

You get 30 days to decide - and return it.

As those above said, size matters.
It's much more pleasant to read on the larger screen, IMO. |

Yes - but you could try out a new one - for the price of return postage - before committing to a used one.

I have both a K2 an a DX. I never use the K2. I Kept the K2 - thinking it would be nice if I wanted to use a smaller purse - but I am so addicted to the big screen it just sits on the nightstand ... neglected.
