Classic Nook Classic is hanging up

Hello everyone. My mother's Nook classic has a message that reads "opening your document" on the screen and the Nook locks up. What is going on? You can reboot the Nook and re-open the book but as soon as you turn a page back or forward it locks up again. What is going on? Is it a corrupt book?

Are you using a memory card? I get this message sometimes - the clip that holds the card in place on my unit has a tendency to sometimes get loose. When that happens the Nook doesn't recognize the card - I'll get the same message you describe if the last book I had open was on the card.

The unit does not have a memory card in it. The books have been side loaded and are in the Documents folder. I removed and then replaced that one book and it seems to be working so far. This is my mom's Nook.

I would guess corrupt file. YOu could try examining the book under something like Calibre to see if you can spot the problem.
