Calibre Library

Hi, I had calibre on my pc then it crashed. I had my library file backed up. How can I put my library file back into my my calibre program. Thanks for any help.

Install Calibre as Normal. After first startup, Exit DO NOTHING ELSE.

Now copy the entire contents BACKUP Library into your new Library folder (usually Calibre Library)
Start Calibre: you should SEE your books listed. Open one as a test

Last step (optional) Test the full integrity of the restore by running Library Maintenance

Or you could simply copy over the library folder first.

If you stick it in

Code:

C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Calibre Library

that should be the default...

But anyway the first startup will activate a splash screen asking you to confirm where you want the library to go. Make sure the folder you copied the backup to is selected, and it will load the library.

That is correct:

The folder at instal must be:
1)A valid Library (contains metadata.db)
2)or empty

you can not do a Install using a folder that just has a collection of books.
