JailbreakMe from Comex has been released. The new jailbreak is web based and doesn't require a computer.

It's swamped, the installer just keeps on crashing on me.

It worked for me earlier this afternoon. Of course then Cydia was swamped. And some key tools (MobileTerminal) don't yet work on iOS 4 (tip: install OpenSSH and change your mobile/root passwords that way since MobileTerminal will just crash if you try to run it).

I'm very happy to once again have full multitasking (via backgrounder) while still having access to iOS 4 functionality. I had previously jailbroken my 3GS new bootrom with Spirit on 3.1.3 but couldn't resist the iOS 4 upgrade.

If you did it when it was first released, the original release broke Facetime & MMS (after you shutdown your device) and didn't work right on iPads with 3.2.1.

I'd read some forums first to see what the status is now before rushing and doing this change.

Hello,

Im testing Jailbreakme on the iPhone 4 - it works great - however the only problem is i'm going to Cydia then Repo666 to unlock a device, it works fantastic on 3G / 3GS but doesn't on iPhone 4 - is there any other way to unlock an iPhone 4 without using Cydia?

I don't believe Ultrasn0w unlocks iPhone 4 yet. They can only unlock baseband versions up to 05.13.04 and apparently the iPhone 4 has a newer baseband than that. Patience, and watch http://www.redmondpie.com for updates.
