Mobipocket prc???
I was wondering why Mobipocket files are distributed with the prc (palm resource database) extensions when in fact they are just pdb (ordinary palm database) files?

No, the are PRC format. The main difference lies in the index table for the blocks of the file. The difference is minor anyway. Now they use .mobi to solve any problem with extensions. The format is still the same.

Well, at least the Harvard Classics mobi files are PDB, not PRC. They start out as standard DOC files with HTML-style markup, followed by images in BMP format, one BMP image per record.

The PRC and PDB formats only define the blocks not the content of the blocks.
