Can't import any books using Mac OS

Hi,
I've been using Calibre for sometime now.
I've tried to upgrade to the latest version, but the diskimage just won't open. All that happens is that the Disk Utility Program opens. What's wrong?

The other problem is that I can't import any books in the old version of Calibre. Keep getting the message

What can I do about it?

I know nothing about Macs, but I am curious what version of calibre are you running?

That's the problem, that is the oldest version you can still download from sourceforge. And your book import problem has since been corrected as explained in the thread linked above.

You can wait for someone who knows what they're talking about or you can remove your current version and go here and install this app fresh.

As always backing up your library is always a good idea prior to such a big change.
