iPad PC Charger Software Utility

ASUS has released a software utility that allows for iPad charging directly through the USB Port. Obviously it was designed for ASUS motherboards themselves. While the utility does work on other motherboards there are multiple reports from many users that it causes the Blue Screen of Death as well and once that occurs it is a bit difficult to remove.

Use at your own risk

I really would NOT recommend using this. You could damage your hardware.

woah! Looks secksy but... seriously... I will clearly steer away from this as I'm decidedly a newbie in altering voltages and amperages inside computers. And a) I love my laptop and b) my ipad.

I use this utility (called AI Charger) on my Asus motherboard PC - works great and I have had zero problems charging my iPad. You don't have to do anything other than install the application - no hardware changes, etc. I certainly wouldn't recommend using it with other motherboards though, though other MB manufacturers have a similar utility.

I've used it for months on my non-asus desktop and on a laptop. Works great.

Used it on my P7P55D Pro-based system for a month and got BSOD's on a frequent basis that went away once that driver was removed. YMMV...
