DR1000 Will programs targeted for DR800 run on DR1000 if both are using RC2?

I see that Xournal that Mackx wrote for the DR1000 also works on the DR800. I was wondering if the reverse was true.

If there is no hardware specific stuff, then programs should work on both. The firmware also uses a common base, with only some small 'hardware dependent' differences. Are you refering to a specific program?

No, it was just a general question. Inigo had ported some utilities to the DR800 and was curious whether they would run on the 1000. Would it hurt to try?

They should work on the 1000 no problem, and no it never hurts to try.

They work on the DR1000, most of them I already used. The tool to change 'thumbnails' for shortcuts to programs is really nice. Xrvt is usefull when porting programs. What they miss is a tab in the (DR1000) taskbar and a DR-menu, that will not be hard to add.
