Thanks Moejoe. It's interesting seeing all the different types. At first I thought two were missing, but then found out there was no World Cup in either 1942 or 1946 due to WW2.

My favourite is the 1970 version. Clean, no logos. I was in Spain for the '82 World Cup and had a Spanish top and ball, but the World Cup that sticks with me most is Mexico '86, although the ball isn't up to much, the mascot was great

I'll be following England, Spain, Korea and Japan this year. Come on the English, Spanish, Korean and Japanese!!

England will be out in the first round (as usual)

And people in pubs all over the land will blame the ball, or the weather (always a good excuse) or the Argentinians even if we're not playing the Argentinians.

The 2010 Jubalani Ball does look very smoothly round compared to the earlier versions. I wonder just how much faster the Jubalani is compared to the older ones?

They all seem to get lighter over time too, or I'm getting heavier, or my feet are.

I had a kickaround last week in the park, just some keepy-uppy and it was like I was kicking a balloon.

That's a little unfair on England - they haven't actually gone out in the first round for over 50 years (since 1958, in fact), although they have failed to qualify for the finals three times since then. In the last two tournaments they've reached the quarter finals, which isn't too shabby a performance

First round, second or quarter finals, a loyal English Football supporter knows that she must complain at any given opportunity about any and all failures, and even victories. It's almost a requisite by now

LOL Never! It had nothing to do with the other team being far better than us.. it was...er...the light got in they eyes of our striker, or it was too hot.. or the ref... yeah, bloody ref was on their side!
