Nook in Germany
Hi there,
i could not find an answer in web, so i registered in here, hope to find help ![]() Does anyone know, if the nook "works" in germany? I found a post elsewhere, where someone told he had bought it (over the sea, to germany) and likes it. What i does not know is, if the wireless 3G thing works. I am not very technical, i have an iPhone that goes 3G, but do I need some kind of mobile phone contract to use it with 3G? Well, i found the information that nook can connect over wireless lan, fine. But do you suggest me to buy it? Thanks for answering ![]() Therese |

Nook 3G doesn't work in Europe. That's the reason why I chose the Kindle 2.

Hi,
take a look in the german sub-forum... You can Softroot your nook (as easy as a software update) and you'll get a much better device. Additionally you can insert any local SIM card (there's no SIM-lock) and use it with the nook (even to browse the web). Entering the valid APN settings for the new SIM is a bit more difficult than softrooting, but straight forward and well documented. Bye, Dominik |
