Zinio magazines and ipad

I recently read that Apple will no longer let out side sources like Zinio sell magazines etc unless they go directly through the Itune store so that Itunes will get the regular 30% revenue effective March this year. Is there a way to download magazines from a site like Zinio without going to the Itune stores? Could you download the magazine to your computer and then sync it to the ipad?

Thanks

From what I have been reading on various web sites, Zinio should be okay. It seems that an app cannot have its own store built in, but the likes of kindle and zinio handle purchases by opening up Safari and then your efectively just online shopping via the web browser.

This is what I think is happening

Yes, Kindle and Zinio are not 'In App' stores. They simply direct the buyer via Safari to their web sites to purchase then you have to download from your Store Shelf.

I get Nat Geo via Zinio. Is there any other way to get it?

I really hope that zinio will stay on the ipad as such, I have a subscription for Hola! on it and it is the only way to read that mag on the ipad....And I need it for my spanish (I learned german with the help of Bunte, so yes, that works).

can't you goto zinio web site and pay for it, then download content to your ipad? I love Nat Geo on the ipad, very very awesome! but then again the edition on the ipad has interactive stuff not found on the web site so perhaps you do need to order it through the app, not sure. However, being a current customer already means that Zinio keeps 100% of your payment as Apple says they only get a cut when a new customer orders through the app. I am sure Zinio will be around on the iPad as long as they have a decent customer base.

From what I've been reading their policy won't let apps redirect you to the browser either.

On a related note...
