How much has your "not available as eBook" list decreased this year?
The last remaining "Book of the New Sun" entry was just made available by sfgateway this morning, so I thought I'd see how my list of books that I cannot yet buy in eBook format was doing
![]() So far I've crossed off: - Gene Wolfe's "Book of the New Sun" quadrilogy, plus his "Fifth Head of Cerberus"* (released over the period of September to December") - David Foster Wallace's "Infinite Jest" (finally(!) made available in the UK in April) - The RSC Shakespeare (just released this month, although I'm waiting for them to appear on kobobooks - preferably with a hefty discount voucher - before I snap them up! Much more expensive buying them individually than the all-in-one paperback, though :/) - The Oxford World's Classics of Ulysses (technically appearing next January, but close enough! The £1.89 price tag is a bit of a surprise, though - I hope Amazon haven't mixed it up with some un-annotated edition :/) - Thomas Ligotti's "My Work is Not Yet Done" (released in May; a huge and pleasant surprise, this, as Ligotti is nearly always out of print - likewise great to see that Teatro Grottesco was already available) - Mervyn Peake's "Gormenghast" trilogy - Clive Barker's "WeaveWorld". Still waiting for: - Many of Hunter S Thompson's works e.g. the "Fear and Loathing"s (geographical restrictions) - Many of William S Burroughs works (Kindle exclusives(?) I don't trust the ones that have recently appeared on kobobooks - no one else seems to be selling them) - Many of David Foster Wallace's works - Most of Vladimir Nabokov's works - Ray Bradbury Stories, Volumes I & II (geographical restrictions) - Anything by Roger Zelazny - A secular study bible, preferably the Oxford Annotated Bible How many have you guys been able to tick off this year? ![]() * Incidentally, sci-fi fans: sfgateway seem to have dropped prices across the board from £4.99 to a much more impulse-buy-friendly £2.99 - not sure whether this is just a "Christmas promo" thing or not, though. Anno Dracula by Kim Newman.
An On My Way To Paradise by Dave Wolverton. Interestingly, all the SF and Fantasy Masterworks have been leaked, it seems. I'd already scanned some of that for myself. |

Unfortunately that is probably only UK only. ![]() Still all 8.32 or whatever that is in the UK - 4.99 and then exchange rated with some margin presumably. |

Also Thor by Wayne Smith, which I had completely forgotten about. A werewolf novel told from the point of view of a family's German Shepherd protector.

There were quite a few at the beginning of the year, but in the last six months, almost none of the books on my list have been made available as ebooks. I haven't gotten an email from Mysteria in months.

Mine has trickled down slowly. One major problem is that some of my backlist is pretty old and the rights are in dispute. I'm been sending 2-3 boxes to 1DollarScan per month, though.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. If it wasn't an ebook at the beginning of the year, it's not an ebook now.
Wait... I take it back. Boulle's Monkey Planet was released with the release of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. That's it. Last edited by Steven Lyle Jordan; 12-19-2011 at 10:37 PM. |

Nowhere is there any copy of A.J Cronins Beyond This Place. I heard it's really good, but I can't find a legitimate or even a pirate copy (Have the book but can't find it anywhere in the house

Only one: I found Shirley Jackson's "Life Among Savages" as part of an omnibus edition (thanks to someone here posting about it!). I think that only came out this year, but I'm not entirely certain (Amazon lists the pub date on the Kindle edition as 1966!).
Also I did take note that "Farenheit 451" came out as an ebook very recently, but sadly I think it's priced a bit too high. eP |

I recently found out, via a thread in another of the subforums here, that some of the classic SF that I have been pining for is available in Amazon UK, but not in the US. In some instances, novels by American authors are available as ebooks in the UK, but unable to be found in the US...... I am getting really annoyed by this.

Mine decreased HUGELY this year. I was amazingly impressed. Mine was a combination of books not available as ebooks and books not available as ebooks in Australia.
The list is too big to go through, but a bunch of Stephen King, some Attanasio, Jay Lake, Robert McCammon, Peter Straub, Vonnegut, Neal Stephenson - the list is just too big to go into. I'm still waiting for Elizabeth Hand to get more of her backlist out there digitally and I would like more William Horwood and the complete Attanasio works, but I'm feeling much better at the end of this year than at the end of last year. |

Several Shirley Jackson books became available during the year. When I bought my e-reader in October 2010, only one of her books was in digital form, now all but three are out as e-books.
But no new Cornell Woolrich books, no Mary Stewart or Phyllis A. Whitney at all. |
