Battery availability for PP in Australia

I have had my PP for several months and am very happy with it on all counts. I recently took advantage of the Mother's Day offer and bought one for my wife. I also convinced a friend in Sydney to buy one and his should be delivered tomorrow.
I had a scare a couple of weeks ago when I thought my battery was failing as it lasted just a couple of days on a full charge. Subsequently after reading through this forum I found that it was most probably a firmware fault and after upgrading to a more recent firmware my battery life is no longer a problem.
All that being said, I would be happier knowing that batteries for the 5" PP could be made available from Astak to international customers - perhaps Robertb or some other knowledgeable person might be able to enlighten me?

I believe Astak may ship to international customers a new battery, but I do know there are issues with sending batteries by freight. I made a while ago an enquiry to DA Direct here in Australia, they sell the Hanlin V5 (identical to the PP) and they will sell batteries for them. At the time the price given to me was $15 + shipping.

Thanks for the prompt reply Solicitous. I phoned DA Direct after reading that and they are still trying to get information regarding the batteries. All the lady on the other end of the phone could say was that the battery was different to an Ecoreader (as we all know) and they would get back to me with more information.

I didn't get any further information from DA Direct but I emailed the BeBook distributors in Australia and had no problem finding this for $AUS15 and $4 shipping: http://bebook.net.au/products/Batter...Mini-62-7.html

Good work. Their site says $25.00 though..... I have bought from them before (my black milano cover) and for future reference they were absolutely great to buy from, no problems.
