JBL leather case
I received my jetBook Lite leather case in the mail today.
We were starting to have a conversation on it when the thread was closed (not sure why, other than that Ectaco's offer had expired). So I thought I would start this thread for anyone who wanted to comment on it. All three sides are elastic. The fit is perfect. It smells good! It is available on eBay for $29.95 with free shipping. http://cgi.ebay.com/Ectaco-jetBook-L...item27b0871155 Ectaco's website says that the MSRP is $44.95. http://www.ectaco.com/jetbook-lite-case/ |

I received mine today also. I love it! Very beautiful rich black leather with JETBOOK LITE stamped on the front. I think it will very nicely protect my JBL if Im out around town with it. Impressive. Fine quality and will certainly enhance the JBL.

Agree with GA and Linda - received my jetBook Lite case today and I love it! Especially since it was free (the "price" of my positive newegg review notwithstanding...). Would definitely consider buying another case for the second JBL in the family.

This case sounds really nice, but I have a regular jetBook.
Anyone out there have both a jB and a jBL, and could tell me if the case works for the jB too? Thanks, Steve |

So, I received the free leather case today. I went to work on it right away to make it the way I want it. I didn't want a case that I have to put it somewhere when I pull out the ereader. I wanted a case that's attached to the ereader while I'm reading it. In other words, I wanted something that opens up closes like a book. So, here's my modifications. Not the prettiest thing out there. Didn't really look to win a beauty contest. Basically, I cut the top and bottom elastic bands. Then I sewed on a couple black bands to keep it closed when I'm not reading it. In one of the pictures, you can see me holding it up from the flapping side. The device is velcroed onto the case.
Added by edit. By the way, it took me about 15 minutes to make the modifications. Last edited by jblitereader; 04-10-2010 at 01:23 AM. |

I got my JBL case in a couple weeks ago, and got my regular JB case in Thursday. The regular JB case is pretty nice, but the fit isn't perfect (I'll see if I can take some pictures tomorrow to show what I mean). I think the cases for the Sony (300?) would probably fit it better and be a bit more functional...

f.y.i. for d.i.y.
suede, cardboard , spray glue, velcro 1) Cut suede ( or any durable fabric that does not fray ) and cardboard ( milk carton thickness is fine ) to 11.75 * 6.25 in 2) spray glue the fabric to cardboard 3) sew around, very close to edge. 4) apply velcro ( i sewed mine on, but some velcro has adhesive. ) Last edited by asperger; 04-11-2010 at 11:11 AM. |

Looks good, but how did you make the e-reader stay IN the case? For me it seems that it can slip out on either end.

Nice idea, but I would replace the cardboard with the plastic material used in soft cover binders. it is thin, ridged yet pliable and is not affect by humidity. I believe it is the same material embedded in the original case that came with the unit.

So, I was bored tonight and decided to make an instruction video of how to modify the leather case to my liking.
