Hi!
I'm Mary Anna. I'm in the market for an ereader and trying to decide which one to get, so this place should be very helpful.

When I'm not reading, I write the Faye Longchamp archaeological mysteries, which are just now branching out from dead-tree books. As of this morning, two of them were available for the iPad and I'm waiting for all the other books to go live on all formats. And I've epublished some works to which I have the rights, including Wounded Earth, which you can see right there in my avatar. I've beaten my paper publisher to the punch because my ebooks are available at Smashwords and Amazon in virtually all formats.

I like to garden, play music, watch movies, cook, and travel. I'm looking forward to getting acquainted here. (And I can't figure out how to set my tagline, so if anybody can point me to the right page, I'd be grateful.)

Difficult choice you have to make. So many variables. Have you checked the wiki yet? And have a look through the 'Which one should I buy' forum. It might give you some ideas.

Once you have narrowed it down or have more questions, please ask. Lots of nice people here willing to help.

Good luck with your choice, Mary Anna. Much depends on what kind of material you want to read. Do you mean your signature? If so, the forum doesn't open that up to new members until they have made at least 10 posts and been a member for at least 10 days, I think.

Ten posts before a signature line? That makes sense, and it explains why I couldn't even find a place on the settings page that even *talked* about it.

I'm very early in my search. I have a friend who loves his Nook, but I need to do my own research. I'm not in a hurry. My "deadline" is that I want to have an ereader before I go on a long trip, so I don't have to pack a briefcase full of books. I think my next big trip will be this fall, so I have some time.
