Jetbook lite in vietnamese

So, I was playing around to see if I could put Vietnamese in the ereader. I don't read it, but my parents do. They can't read English very well. Vietnamese, by the way, looks something like this.

Quote:

Anyway, there are whole vietnamese libraries online and my mom has been reading off of the computer. Now that I know how to put vietnamese on the jetbook lite, I'll be getting them for my parents.

Hi livingenzyme,

How about posting the instructions or pm me the instructions? This would be great for my parents too.

Cheers

I recently bought 2 Jetbooks for my Father, and Father in law.
Both appear to have taken to the Jetbook like a Duck to water.

Both got about 15 - 20 min of basic instruction, features, what does what.
Then they got thrown into the pool, sink or swim time.

If you have parents that read, I'd highly recommend it.
My Dad has been struggling with Macular Degeneration, so he reads landscape style on the largest font size. His small local library only has about 50 large print books. So he's really enjoying being able to read again.

I'm just curious. I have now perfected the method of inserting vietnamese into the jetbook lite while keeping all the proper punctuations and unicode symbols. I am now collecting/making books like fictional novels, historical documentaries, and other ebooks in vietnamese into formats where the jetbook lite could read them for my family. I've got about 50 books so far. All legal, of course. I expect to have a whole library by next month.

Should I star putting them up for download on my website? Just how many vietnamese people are here that are interested in getting vietnamese ebooks in formats that could be read by the jetbook lite?

That is entirely up to you.

Looks like we're the only Vietnamese here. I can't read Vietnamese very well and probably won't be reading VN books.

I did order two jetbook lite for my parents and will load some Vietnamese books for them.

cheers

You can download what I have up so far.

http://livingenzyme.webs.com/vietnameseebooks.htm

That's about 250 or so ebooks. I'll put some more up for download as I extract the texts... when I have the time.

I just modified my website for better navigation and easier download. Please check it out.

If you click on the link, it takes you to this pages which makes it easy to pick and choose what books you want.

Cool, huh?

This is just the beginning, I will regularly put up more books. In time, there will be thousands in easy to download format.
