all right, it's been an eternity since LazyScot was seen around here, and i'm starting to get seriously worried. did the ducks get him, at last ??? or the squirrels ????

i say we form a search party to find him and bring him back ! who's with me ?

I'm in. I hope he didn't wander into the wrong shower at the sanitorium spa.

They did, after all, name a wing after him that we happened to come across in The Four-Word-Posts Story.
I think that would be a good place to start. Maybe he checked himself in after a binge of ZCD's.

Maybe we should borrow the dirigible to launch a rescue.

hm, after a bout of zcd's i doubt he would have been in any sort of shape to check himself into anything. but we'll follow up the lead just in case, you never know.

all right. i've had word from lazyscot. the squirrels haven't got him after all (ouf !) but a band of horrible tyrants has. among other things, they are torturing him with exposure to the dreaded, barbaric "wrong side of 5 in the morning" :shudder: the beasts !

clearly, what is needed now is a rescue party. luckily, we should be able to make one of those out of the elements we've been assembling for the search party. we'll definitely need a rope ladder to go with the dirigible. the AIIIIEEEEEE YAI YAI YAI!! troops can, at the very least, provide the necessary diversions.

OK - now there's one bit where the rescue party will have to fly over that these clothes pegs will come in very handy. Simply place one on your nose at the appropriate point (and believe me, you'll know when!)

I've packed chocolate and whisky to help people recover afterwards...

Firstly, apologies for the continued absence. The ongoing experience of encountering the wrong side of various times of day that I had previously assumed ranked along with Atlantis, modest bankers and politicians' honesty on the reality scale is, at least partly to blame!

Also, my thanks for the concerns, and Mr & Mrs Mallard that you have sent to keep an eye on me. (At least I assume you've sent them, as it is either that or they like sitting in the prickly juniper bush by our patio, and given they seem to be equipped with VTOL capability I am guessing they have had dealings with Montsmags Enterprises.) They seem to spend a large amount of time staring in through the patio, presumably taking notes on my on-going health (either that or to embarrass me into getting back onto MR). Well, apart from the time they spend staring into the wooden fence. This, I infer, is a result of the daily, post-debriefing, mandatory ZCD causing a minor targeting mis-alignment -- I know from trips to Adrian's that Anas Platyrhynchos normally has excellent targetting abilities.

However, I am somewhat nervous about the simultaneous recent residency of a reasonable number of crows. It occurs to me that they may be spies for Nogbad the Bad, or Slite's evil twin (who has probably dognapped him again, and is doubtless up to no good again). If anyone has a gong to call Groliffe, perhaps they could give Groliffe a call and ask him if he could drive off the crows, unless he's busy freezing Texas again.

And can anyone help work out which side the rabbits are on -- their plant munching habbits are definitely evil. However their escape tactics when approached are, shall we say, not particularly well organised as they seem to involve running into things (fence post and fencing) looking confused, running back towards me, stopping, running away again and then eventually working out that they are small enough to fit through the stock fencing and are equipped with highly efficient jumping equipment allowing them to vault the ditch.

I suspect I'll not be about much for a bit, but will try to return with some presents....

In the meantime, if someone could pass a few drams of the Bowmore Islay 18 year old Malt, that would go down exceptionally well.

And I'm still looking for the escape tunnel. I just want to use it in the wrong direction.

Or should that be the right direction?

hallelujah !! he's at least opened up a line of communications. good to see you back here, lazyscot. don't worry about M. et Mme Mallard ; they're there for your protection (i realise this may seem hard to believe, but given recent events we felt that drastic measures were called for). i don't know what to tell you about the rabbits, but i'm guessing they're probably really cute, so i wouldn't worry too much.

i'll just ask marc about the crows. you never know. i've heard they're one of the most intelligent species on the planet, so god knows what they could be up to...
